I find this funny but I need to get this off my chest.

Im a head chef at an Italian restaurant. So as you can imagine I enjoy cooking and have been in the restaurant/food industry since I was 13 (im 24 now). My 3 main cuisines that I enjoy cooking in my spare time are Pakistani, Italian and Moroccan. I wanna talk about the Moroccan part for a sec, because I can also speak Moroccan darija.

Because I’m a Pakistani, who can cook and speak Moroccan, and who knows the culture inside out, people automatically assume I go over there and take part in whatever messed up activities people go over there to do.

Brev, really?😂 instead of trying to defend myself I just laugh.

Because:

“O mankind! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may know one another. Indeed, the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

(Qur’an 49:13)

”…and made you into peoples and tribes so that you may know one another…”

It’s not a command to learn others cultures, but tells us that diversity was intentional, and that we should interact and get to know each other, and judge based on taqwā rather than ethnicity or lineage.

I love and respect the Moroccan culture, I love their food, their traditions and their culture. And I definitely love their people for the way im treated by them.

Not every Pakistani has ties to Morocco because of them heinous stuff people go to do. And it’s definitely not a fault with the country or their people, because it’s the people who go with intention and fikr to go do that stuff, the problem is with these people.

Anyways I’ve made my point, if you read this far, may Allah grant you a long life full of good health and good wealth, and reunite you with your loved ones in Jannat ul firdous. Ameen🤲🏻
