Loyalty existed in life, yet we chose disloyalty.
We once carried smiles upon our lips, yet we replaced them with tears
We had honesty, yet we lost it for the sake of temporary worldly gains
Responsibility rested upon our shoulders, yet we turned away from it
Our vision was once focused on building, reform, and prosperity, but today our eyes have become accustomed to destruction and ruin
There were no borders between us as Muslims, yet we created borders among ourselves
There were no divisions of race or tribe between us, yet we separated one another because of them
There was peace among us, yet we allowed it to be consumed by war
Yet despite all of this, as long as the door of repentance remains open, the path back remains open as well. For the mercy of Allah is greater than our sins, and the hope of a believer is stronger than the despair of this world
