Why is everyone so picky nowadays?

I’m just tired. Tired of constantly being let down, tired of getting to know someone only to realize our values, goals, or expectations don’t align. It makes me wonder why finding a spouse and getting married feels so much harder now than it used to.

After so many rejections, it’s hard not to question myself. Is it me? Am I not good enough? Am I unattractive? Am I really going to stay single? I’m tired of making dua with hope that it will be answered, only to feel like nothing ever changes. Sometimes I find myself asking, “Why me?” I’m not a creep. I’ve stayed away from zina because I wanted to do things the halal way. All I’ve ever wanted is a spouse to build a life with.

At this point, I just feel emotionally drained. I don’t have the same energy or patience I used to have for starting over again and again. I still want marriage, but I’m exhausted by the process of trying to find the right person.
