Inspiring story about an African sister who set up a separate matchmaking service due to most brothers prefering fairer skinned sisters.

What’s one green flag that made you realize someone was genuinely serious about marriage, not just talking?
I’m curious to hear real experiences.

As for me, Emotional safety in marriage is the feeling that you can be your true self with your spouse without fear of being mocked, dismissed, judged, or constantly misunderstood. It is knowing that even during disagreements, your spouse is still your safe place, not your opponent.
You know things like,
Being able to express your feelings without being labelled “too sensitive” or “difficult.”
Knowing that your mistakes will be corrected with kindness, not used as weapons against you later.
Feeling heard, even when your spouse does not agree with you.
Being able to admit your fears, weaknesses, and struggles without losing your partner’s respect.
Having disagreements where the goal is understanding and resolution, not winning.
Receiving reassurance, affection, and appreciation without having to beg for them.
Trusting that your spouse protects your dignity both in private and in front of others.

@izmo
So tonight I’m so pissed off I go to this bbq place with my friend pretty late and three Muslim girls come in wearing very tight figure hugging tops and trousers total rich kids my first thought was what the hell are you doing out alone without a male.are you stupid
That’s when the worst case scenario occurred which I knew could of happened while I’m sitting there eating two very sketchy guys come in heavily built looking at the girls up and down they didn’t even order food and I immediately recognized and realized how much danger these girls were in while they were blissfully unaware of the threat they sat there laughing while I’m staring these guys down I knew from my experience of being street smart in some tough areas I knew exactly who they were you get a sense of this once you know the streets they were predators
Without making it obvious I wrote on my phone in the notes and told my friend let’s stay for a while I didn’t want these girls to be alone with these guys and I needed to stay until they left cause I didn’t trust these guys from instinct
so I sat on a table between the girls and these guys and at that point these guys were sizing me up and looked away they knew they had someone who looked as equally dangerous
THIS IS WHY GUYS NEED TO TRAIN to look like you can handle threats or atleast predators think twice when they look at you
While I was there I was running scenarios in my head on how I would have to take care of these guys if it came to that and was literally making dua please let these stupid girls just leave and go home as I may of had to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend there honor and stay as they are my Muslim sisters.
THANKFULLY the girls left and got in their car and drove off whilst one of those guys went to the bathroom
Honestly what the hell is wrong with these women if they ended up alone with those guys coming in anything could of happened women today are so blissfully unaware of how dangerous the world is
