"I hope those beautiful days come back soon... but this time with the right person."

A poor young man named Yusuf wanted to marry Amina. He owned very little and worried that he was not wealthy enough. He approached her father with honesty and respect.

Her father asked, “Can you treat my daughter with kindness, fulfill your responsibilities, and fear Allah?”

Yusuf replied, “I cannot promise riches, but I promise sincerity, hard work, and faith.”

Remembering Allah’s words:

“If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty.” (Qur’an 24:32)

the father agreed. The nikah was simple: a modest mahr, a few family members, heartfelt du’a, and no extravagant celebrations.

Years later, Yusuf’s income increased through Allah’s blessing, but what truly enriched their home was not wealth—it was mutual respect, patience, and remembrance of Allah.

Their marriage became an example that barakah (blessing) comes from obedience to Allah, not from expensive weddings or impossible expectations.

Lesson

Islam makes marriage easy by:

Encouraging early marriage when one is ready.
Discouraging excessive dowries and lavish weddings.
Prioritizing faith and character over wealth and status.
Promising Allah’s help to those who marry seeking purity and righteousness.

• Teaching that the simplest marriages are often the most blessed.
