Everyone is being eaten up by his or her own acedia. There is a time when the boredom of understanding and ignorance, and the ennui of awareness, become a portable hell. When one's own factory of thought is in a cacophony, the activities and contributions of the outside world appear uneventful. The pleasure of the Pak-brokered truce between Iran and the US-Israel appears dull and null unless you drive your own vehicle. The gigantic FIFA World Cup doesn't forge any joy regarding one's own misery and anxiety. The controversial budget of the country doesn't drive me to form an opinion – despite somebody's inquiry about what the total amount is. The acid attack on women is the new norm. The killing of children in collateral damage is hyper-normalized. Tragedy everywhere—spiritual, corporeal, or corporate—is the routine trend.

I would get saddened by somebody's normal death, and would be affected for long days afterwards even by a passing funeral session. I would get scared of graves and cemeteries. Now, it's totally ordinary, although I walk on the graveyard's path daily, even twice or thrice, towards the bazaar and back home. I am not haunted by reading tombstones anymore, nor afraid of the tall and congested trees of a graveyard. I have a feeling of normalcy now. It's the rut – born, suffer, and die.
