I made some poor financial decisions over the last few years.... biggest one being a deposit on a cafe that fell through & i lost the whole lot (the person I was buying off left the country with my money!!) then bought my car, & messed it up, had to make the damage payments myself as I was a new driver & didnt want my insurance to go sky high.... I used a 0% credit card to pay for the car. Thinking I'd 100% pay off the balance before the Riba kicks in.... in that time, I lost my job & due to health am officially unfit for work
I was building my credit, so every month I would use my Americn express card & pay it in full (because i had the cash & its a good way to raise your credit rating) ive done this for years........ but as of now with the job loss (alhamdulilah im fully making payments) but, as its AMEX theres an 29.9% APR (which I never touched before in my life)
Plus now my card 0% time is almost up & that also has a 29.9% APR & will start at the end of this month 😵
So I have two cards with around 9k debt (I am able to pay them each month) BUT now the APR is kicking in
Fpr instance.... A £150 payment essentially will only be about £60 towards my balance because of the RIBA! So now I am freaking out, I've never been in debt & all of a sudden in 2 months I have Riba on my neck! My credit score has tanked & my bank has said they cannot give me a loan (due to the debt im in) - plus if i do get a loan its still Riba - just less! 🙃
May Allah forgive me I am a single parent & cannot ever clear my debts if I am swimming in the interest!
Does anyone know a MUSLIM based platform or person that does loans so I can clear off the Riba & pay them via bank standing irder or direct debit??
I am praying to Allah daily to get me out of debt... if I die tonight I will have Riba on my neck!
This government only wants to keep us trapped in a cycle of debt with no way out!
If I do a debt consolidation my credit will be so bad ill never be able to do a business funding or something in the future.
