What an absolutely pathetic update or what. Who thought it was a good idea to hold the entire app hostage until users message their latest match?
If I match with someone that’s because I chose to. Whether I message them today, tomorrow, next week, or never is my decision not yours. Locking the entire app stopping users from browsing new profiles and forcing them to send a message before they can even continue using the app isn’t improving engagement it’s straight up manipulating user behaviour. And as if that wasn’t bad enough you also force users to type at least 30 characters for the first message. Seriously? Since when does every genuine first message have to be an essay? Sometimes a simple “Hi” or “Salam” or “How are you?” is enough to start a conversation naturally.
Good apps create opportunities. Bad apps force interactions.
Stop trying to manufacture conversations and let people connect at their own pace. If someone wants to message they will. If they don’t forcing them won’t create meaningful conversations. it will only frustrate your users. This isn’t a feature. It’s a terrible user experience. You can check the screen shots.
