I feel like I need to share a work colleagues story with you guys.
So she met a guy he was Pakistani mirpuri and she herself is Pakistani Sindhi.
So they were together for a while. When it came to the time of getting the families on board. The guys mother put her foot down and said no.
The reason for her no was, she wanted her son to marry his cousin sister because of the family wealth and businesses they built over multiple years dating back to the 80s.
They didn’t want an “outsider” to have her eye on it. This was his mums mentality which she openly said aloud in front of her & her family.
Now my work colleague comes from a similar background too where her family have their own businesses etc and they don’t keep it in the family in terms of marriages.
They marry who they want. Apparently, the guy knew this all along and knew he couldn’t marry out of his family yet still decided to go pursue her knowing full well he had to leave her because his mum is number one and he didn’t obviously, want to get axed off with what would eventually be passed down to him.
I just wonder why people egg other on, when they full well know they’ll never marry the person 🤨
