Financial Responsibility and Modern Relationships
Many women are open to supporting a partner through temporary hardship. However, there is a difference between offering support and being expected to financially maintain an able-bodied man indefinitely.
For many women, the issue is not how much a man earns, but whether he demonstrates ambition, responsibility, and a willingness to contribute. Financial independence does not automatically mean a woman wants to become the primary provider in a relationship.
As relationship roles continue to evolve, many women still seek partnerships based on mutual effort, shared responsibility, and reciprocity rather than long-term financial dependence.
Someone once told me:
"If you show a man that you'll stay with him through anything, he'll put you through everything."
I really felt that.
Because sometimes the more love, patience, and understanding you give, the more some people take it for granted. They start believing you'll always be there no matter how many times they disappoint you, ignore your feelings, break your trust, or make you question your worth.
Loyalty should never be an invitation for mistreatment. Being understanding doesn't mean accepting disrespect. Being patient doesn't mean tolerating pain forever. The right person will appreciate your willingness to stay, not use it as permission to keep hurting you.
Real love isn't about proving how much suffering you can endure for someone. It's about mutual respect, effort, honesty, and care. The people who truly value you won't test your limits just because they know you love them.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is stop showing people that you'll stay through everything and start showing them that you'll walk away from anything that costs you your peace, dignity, and self-respect.
It is a waste of time, the purpose for which they came has remained unfulfilled
