Don't marry someone out of pity.
Marriage is not a charity project, and pity is not a strong enough foundation for a lifelong commitment.
Marry because you respect one another, trust one another, are compatible, and sincerely hope to build a home together for the sake of Allah.
If you're saying "yes" because you feel guilty, afraid of disappointing them, or don't want to hurt their feelings, pause and think carefully. A marriage built on pity often leads to resentment and heartache for both people.
Choose with sincerity, wisdom, and taqwā—not guilt.
May Allah guide us to spouses who are truly good for us and make our marriages a source of sakīnah, mercy, and barakah. Āmīn. 🤲

A gentle reminder…
Don't marry someone just because you love them. Marry someone where the love is mutual, where both of you choose each other for the sake of Allah.
Love that flows from only one side often becomes exhausting. Marriage is built on mercy, respect, sacrifice, and reciprocity.
And please, don't let anyone treat you like a servant during courtship. If they constantly control you, belittle you, manipulate you, or expect you to earn basic respect before marriage, don't assume it will magically change after nikāḥ.
Courtship should reveal character, not normalize mistreatment.
Choose someone who values you, respects your boundaries, fears Allah in how they treat you, and is intentional about building a peaceful home together.
May Allah grant us spouses who are a source of tranquility, mercy, and goodness in this life and the next. Āmīn. 🤲
