Can I be honest and share something?
I met someone last month, and we talked for about two weeks.
From the moment we started talking, I felt a sense of peace that I hadn't felt ever. I honestly thought he might be the one. I remember waking up every morning feeling so happy—I can't even describe it. We had phone calls and video call, and I really liked him. What attracted me the most was that he answered all of my overthinking questions without me even having to ask.
Then I traveled to Chicago to visit my friends. We talked on the first day, but after that, he disappeared for two days. I knew something wasn't right. I had a bad feeling. I remember it was around 1:00 a.m., and I was crying, wanting to text him. Right before I did, I noticed he had sent me a message:
"Hey, I hope you're enjoying your vacation. I need to deactivate my app because my heart and my mind aren't really into it. You seem like a great girl. Good luck."
And that was it.
Since then, I haven't been able to stop thinking about him. In such a short time, he gave me the kind of peace that every woman deserves, and I truly believed he could be the one.
Last week, I was studying at a coffee shop when I suddenly started thinking about him again. All I could do was pray—for him and for myself—that Allah guides us both to the right person.
He was a stranger, but I still prayed for him. 🤍
Was painful
