Can we plz be brutally honest about social & financial backgrounds?

Cuz I genuinely don't understand why some ppl treat where they come from as if it's smth they need to hide.

This goes to both men & women.
Yesterday, I came across a situation that honestly shocked me !! A girl had to rent an apartment in Cairo just so a potential groom could come meet her family CUZ she's from another governorate & he felt uncomfortable going there. Apparently, he didn't consider it HIS LEVEL

GUUUURL !! GUUURL!!!
How do u even agree to that? & honestly, he's not okay either
If you're embarrassed to visit the place she /he grew up in, meet her family in their environment & see the life that shaped her, then you're not accepting her so u're accepting a carefully edited version of her.
& if you're willing to hide ur roots, ur family, ur hometown or ur reality just to be accepted, then u're not fully at peace with urself either.

Ppl keep forgetting that marriage isn't just two individuals.
It's TWO FAMILIES , Her parents will eventually become ur children's grandparents. His family will become part of her life SO If the relationship starts with shame, superiority & pretending, it's not magically turning into respect later & let's talk about the men who constantly speak as if they're doing a woman a favor:

(I can give u a better life FINANCIALLY)
(I can provide things u've never had)
(You should be grateful I chose you)

She might say yes But agreement & compatibility are two completely different things.
There's a huge difference between someone choosing U & someone choosing what they think they can offer U

Please make peace with yourselves.
With your family.
Your home.
Your city.
Your accent.
Your traditions.
Your story.

The right person won't ask you to hide any of it, They won't need a polished version of you.
Because anyone who is embarrassed by where you come from today will eventually find something else to be embarrassed by tomorrow & one of the biggest red flags in any relationship is someone who loves you as long as you're not fully yourself.

Marriage (Nikah) in Islam is a sacred contract and an act of worship, not just a social agreement. Allah says:
"And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy."
(Qur'an 30:21)
