I was pursued for nearly four years by a man who repeatedly proposed marriage. He was 6ft, handsome, a barrister, came from generational wealth, and 14 years younger than me. We only met once, but when a man knows what he wants, he pursues it and he never stopped.
But the one thing I couldn't overlook was his deen. he wasn't where I needed him to be, and for me, that wasn't something I could gamble with when choosing a husband.
Sometimes I find myself wondering whether a person can truly change and become deeply God-fearing. Could I have walked away from someone who might have grown into the man I prayed for? Or did I make the right decision by holding firm to what mattered most?
As difficult as it was, my heart has always been focused on attaining the akhirah, not just building a beautiful life in this dunya. I can only pray that choosing my faith over worldly comfort was the right choice, and that Allah will never let me regret choosing Him.

Don't let anyone make you question your worth. If someone is inconsistent, unavailable, or keeps giving excuses, walk away with your head held high. You don't need to compete for attention or beg for the bare minimum. A man who truly values you will show it through his actions, not just his words.
Know your value, protect your peace, and never lower your standards just because you're afraid of being alone. The right man won't make you chase him—he'll make his intentions clear. 👑🤍
