why don’t girls from the US want a guy who isn’t a citizen/green card holder already?

either:

a. She doesn’t wanna make him uproot his whole life to relocate to the US, try to adjust status here, only to be taken by ICE at an immigration hearing or something and then boom either he gets deported or disappears in these awful facilities

b. Compatibility issue - people raised in the US vs abroad can sometimes be very different in terms of values, and that heavily affects a marriage

c. Scared of being used for papers and abandoned as soon as the papers come thru- valid fear. Have you seen how mean people are about divorced/separated women? Why build a man up in this country just for him to leave you and have to deal with the stigma of being divorced?

You will notice absolutely none of these concerns have anything to do with the worth of the man, or placing his value on his citizenship status or lack thereof. May Allah swt make it easy on all of the men trying to build a better life and future for themselves in the US, but please please don’t take it to heart if you are struggling with marriage here. If you are having trouble with girls who are citizens, your best bet is either marrying from back home once you’re more settled, or find a girl here in a similar situation to you.
