Sisters, how would you feel if your husband compliments another woman’s food (beside his mom’s). Like if you go over someone’s house- and he expresses how much he enjoyed her food.

Better yet, is it a red flag at all, if he goes over by himself to (say his brother’s home) or to his own home for a valid reason, but he eats and enjoys his sister in law’s food.

Father brought a rishte wale uncle home. He asked me what type of girl I want. I told him the usual - deendar, ba-parda, namazi, rozedar, non-working [in mixed environment] etc. There was nothing unusual in my requirements from an Islamic perspective but he spent the next 45 mins arguing and trying to convince me that my requirements are too strict - BRO THAT'S MOSTLY BARE MINIMUM!!

He claimed to be an Alim [among many other things including retired high-ranked Army man , President-awarded] but kept belittling the Quran, Shariat, and Ulama.

The first thing he asked me was my education. I don't have a fancy degree and I was wearing kurta-payjama and topi so he might have created a typical 'mulla ji' image of me in his mind. At one point, he started speaking in broken English out of nowhere most likely thinking that would leave a 'mulla ji' in an awe of his noble and highly qualified personality [because English=Class in India], I responded back in English with a pinch of American accent [Alhamdulillah not to brag but it is what it is, thanks to my work] and bro quickly came back to Hindi LOL.

Bro kept jumping from one topic to another [from milad to haircut to medicine to taqwa] every time I responded to his retarded argument. At one point, while responding to his argument, I took recourse to a very basic logical construct and bro said he was a student of commerce [so he doesn't know what I was talking about 💀].

There was so much to dismantle but he was already getting offended and then he was a guest and then maghrib was approaching too so the discussion ended after about 45 or minutes. I didn't budge and clearly told him repeatedly that my requirements are non-negotiables to which he was visibly offended.

Never compromise on your values and your beliefs and never tolerate any direct or implied disrespect to the Quran and Sunnah.
