How would you define emotional maturity in a relationship?
For me, emotional maturity means handling challenges calmly, taking responsibility & being willing to grow together.

Assalamu alaikum everyone!

I have a question for my fellow reverts (and anyone who’s married to a revert). Sometimes I feel like being a revert adds an extra layer of difficulty when it comes to marriage. One thing I’ve been wondering about is how you all navigate cultural differences.

How do you approach conversations about culture, family traditions, expectations, and finding a balance between culture and Islam? Did you ever worry about being accepted by your spouse’s family because you weren’t raised Muslim? I’d love to hear your experiences, advice, or anything you wish someone had told you early on.

Jazakum Allahu khayran!

What do men hope to pass on to their future children?

And what do men expect of their wives to pass on to their children?

How do you see working together with your spouse in parenting?

As, of course just providing a roof over their heads and meals is not enough. Theres a lot of people who have not had their emotional needs met as pure survival was the primary objective but things are different nowadays.

What is key in the tarbiyah you have planned?

Just curious, as children need their parents in an intentional, present way to thrive. And if we are to be stronger as an ummah, everything comes down to family which builds the wider community.
