Dale Carnegie told the story of a patient with a wound, the patient's wound had grown to a critical stage, the doctors told him that he had very little time to live (i.e. he would live very little time). They indirectly indicated to him that it would be wise for him to prepare for burial.
Suddenly, the patient Hani (the patient's name is Hani) made a spontaneous decision: he thought to himself that if he had so little time left in life, why not enjoy it to the fullest? He thought, how many times have I wanted to travel the world before I die. This is the surest opportunity to realize my dream. He bought his ticket.
When the doctors heard of his plan, they were horrified and told him, “We strongly object to you and warn you: if you proceed with this journey, you will be buried at the bottom of the ocean.” Their arguments were in vain and he simply said, “No, nothing like that will happen. I have promised my family that I will return to be buried in the family cemetery.”
Thus began his journey of bliss and joy. He wrote to his wife, saying, “I am eating the most delicious food on the cruise ship. I am reading poetry and eating delicious fatty foods that I have never eaten before. I am enjoying life more than I have ever enjoyed in my entire life.”
Dale Carnegie claimed that the man was cured of his disease and that the stimulating method he adopted was capable of removing illness, sorrow, and pain.
Advice: Happiness, cheerfulness, and a calm and gentle attitude are often more beneficial than the doctors' pills.
