🌷🤭As much I'd love to stay, I have to say
goodbye......🤭🌷

to my old job role, (I wanted to a long time ago) and now I can. 👩‍🏫🙃

One of my key children in the last nursery I work in, was autistic, and I took interest in why he behaved the way he did. I wanted to help him, but I didn't have the knowledge or the answers to support him.

So I resigned to study psychology, but as some of you may know, I was a nursery nurse. Although challenging in many aspects, involving safeguarding, reporting incidents and accidents, emotional child protection and whistleblowing procedures, but I can tell you, it was one of the best job roles I have ever had. I mean a job, thats about 40% drinking countless cups of pretend tea, making sand castles, and building tall towers out of blocks. Pretending you are an expert driver even though (you don't know how), you still get to hang out with the boys who like racing toy cars, who somehow believe you can accurately side park.😎

My favourite part of my previous job was laughing at the discoveries children used to make. I showed a child a spider. And I remember, she said "No silly Leila, it's a daddy long legs." I love getting messy, so setting up creative activities only for it to be a mess in five minutes.

Some children were just glued to me, could never let go of holding my hand or pulling on my clothes. When I was on kitchen duty I had to dodge the poor boy. I felt so guilty. I remember, one girl was too shy to talk so we whispered instead. 🤭 And my manager came to tell me "wow, her  mum told me she couldn't stop talking about you at home." Another child, made me laugh taking a photo of me with her toy camera while she was posing.

One challenging part is when their parents leave them crying at the gate. The most rewarding feeling was when, a child stops crying when they see my face. Another rewarding part is when I track their development, see them develop every milestone from scribbling and making marks on paper to writing their own name. Some children start without speaking a word, just to leave speaking full blown sentences.

Well I learned, growth comes with a lot of goodbyes.
If you don't jump, your will never fly. If nothing changes nothing changes. As much as I love all  the fun things that comes with being nursery nurse. I must make a difference in those with additional learning needs....

🌷🤭Working with children is a career  I would not change even if the whole world turned it's back on me....🤭🌷

What's one green flag that instantly catches your attention in a person?

For me, it's someone who knows exactly what they want and what they're looking for. Clear intentions matter.

A Loyal Heart’s Pain

I stayed faithful, you chose to roam,
yet somehow I’m the one alone.
You smile today, your wounds seem gone,
while I still wonder what went wrong.

I kept my promises, held on tight,
you traded our love for a passing night.
The world seems cruel, the truth unclear,
why does the cheater shed no tear?

But seasons change and time reveals,
what broken hearts already feel.
A loyal soul may hurt for years,
yet leaves this story with no shame, no fears.

For when I look back, I will see
I lost a liar—
you lost me. ❤️‍🩹

Y’all 😂

Okay so… that “Interests” section on apps? It literally says “so we can show you more profiles that are suited to you” meaning whatever you pick is supposed to reflect your actual life
So when someone puts “Gym” or “Healthy food” as their interest… it shows. It’s pretty obvious whether that’s actually you or not

So why do people put it down when they clearly never go? Same goes for a bunch of other “interests” that are just… very visibly not true

What’s wrong with just listing the things you’re genuinely interested in and saving everyone the confusion? 🌚

Be honest:
What's the first thing you notice on a profile?

  1. Photos
  2. Bio
  3. Profession
  4. Deen/Religiosity

No judging!
