50-50
What the heck is this 50-50 matter?
Never heard of this term in Islamic marriage system.  After joining muzz I learned there is also something called 50-50 that I might consider. No, I don't believe and don't even support this idea.

It's very modern concept among non-muslim couples when it comes to family expenses. According to non-muslim belief, both husband and wife are equally responsible for the family. So, regular expenses must be divided equally between couple. So, to survive in this high cost era both husband and wife must work equally to earn money.  I guess, that's the meaning of 50-50.

Muslim man who also believes in this concept, I would like to ask few questions to you if you allow me ---
Did our Prophet PBUH said anything about it?
Did any wife of our beloved Prophet PBUH work outside to earn money to support family?
Did any of companions' wife work outside to support family expenses?
Does any of hadith book or the Holy Quran says anything or any sign of 50-50 matters?

All these four question answer is NO as per my knowledge. That's why I don't believe in this concept.

Where do you Muslim brothers get this idea from? Please teach me, I also like to learn.

The so-called modern educated brothers who strongly support the idea that a wife must contribute in the family equally or slightly, I would like to ask few common sense questions.

After marriage can you -----
take half of her period pain into your body that you can equally tolerate that pain?
be pregnant like her to establish the actual equality in the family?
take half of her pregnancy pain that she tolerate for around 9 months?
take half of her birth giving pain while she makes you a father?

If you can give all these four question answers Scientifically Yes then talk about 50-50.
Since you believe in 50-50 then everything must be 50-50, not only financial matters. 

Lemme repeat the very basic principles of Islamic family, a husband is the leader of the family, he is the provider, he is the protector, he is the earner, he is solely responsible for each and every financial matters of the family.
