Is disability a dealbreaker for you when looking for marriage?
I ask because I live with a disability myself. To be honest, I don’t see it as a problem at all — even if someone is more disabled than me, it would never put me off. What matters most to me is having good character, faith, kindness, and being able to build a halal life together.
I’m just curious what others honestly think. Would disability stop you, or do you look past it to what’s inside?

I thought I'd share this experience because I rarely get phone calls from matches, but today I spoke to a guy of Kashmiri background. At first, he was very respectful, and I thought the conversation was heading in the right direction after a long delay.
I started by telling him about myself, my personal life, and we even discussed our careers a bit.
But later, he asked what kind of relationship I was looking for before marriage, and that's when he shocked me by saying he'd had girlfriends in the past, and was still looking for one because he'd need a year to get married.
I asked about his sect, and he just said he was Muslim. When I asked about his views on intimacy before marriage, he was vague. He sounded like he wants physical intimacy in the process of getting to know each other.
I was shocked because it feels like this is normal now. I ended up asking him how he would feel if his future wife had previously engaged in this kind of intimacy with many men. He went quiet, changed the subject, said goodbye, and unmatched me, though I'd already unmatched him.
This is the state of Muslim today, and why marriages don't last because they end up with spouse just like them. That's why staying within Islamic boundaries is so important.
