Sometimes I really do not like being asked about my “revert story.” I know it is a common question and I know some people find revert stories inspirational, but I do not think people always realize what they are actually asking.

A lot of people find religion during the worst periods of their lives, rock bottom, trauma, loss, isolation, or some combination of all of it. Then a complete stranger asks them to reopen the most vulnerable and life changing chapter of their life for conversation.

And those traumatic events or difficult situations do not magically disappear after conversion. Healing is still happening. The struggle is still there. Some wounds are still fresh.

It has not even been a year for me. Not even 6 months... I'm sorry if I am not open about life altering events with a complete stranger.

Do any other reverts struggle with some of the more ritualistic things within Islam? Christianity left me somewhat traumatized. I’m trying to learn how to pray

Someone asked me, "What do you gain from loving_people the way you do ?"
And I sat with that for a second. Because the truth is, I'm not doing it for something in return. I do it because it's natural to me to care, to notice, to pour into people I value. If it's not reciprocated, I learn where to place my energy, but I don't regret being genuine.. ❤️🧿❤️🧿

The fear of living alone as we become of age should concern both Men & Women: Do we really honestly want to remain unmarried and live a single life thinking that it will be better for us, it is something to think about and reflect over for every single one of us! Think about the long term consequences of remaining single

FREAKOTIC on Instagram: "You Own Nothing in this Life🥀 Death in Islam is the termination of worldly life and the beginning of afterlife. Death is seen as the separation of the soul from the human body, and its transfer from this world to the afterlife. Islamic tradition discusses what happens before, during, and after death, although what exactly happens is not clear and different schools of thought draw different conclusions. However, a continuity between all these ideas derived from the basic sources from the Qur'an and Hadith. One canonical idea is, that an angel of death (Arabic: Malak al-Maut) appears to the dying to take out their souls. The sinners' souls are extracted in the most painful way while the righteous are treated easily. Believing in an afterlife is one of the six articles of faith in Islam. The deceased are held to be in an intermediary state, until the Day of Resurrection. #death #islamicreminder #islamicquotes #muslim #explore"

Give much, even if you've been given little. Keep in touch with the ones who have forgotten you, and forgive who has wronged you, and do not stop praying for the best for those you love.
