X on Instagram: "Today would be Malcolm X’s 101 Bday (my man my man my baby my baby 😌) anddd i think it’s time we hear from him beyond the cherry picked speeches often in rotation - this is from the Ballot or The Bullet in 1964 I’ve begun to think that when certain ppl use the term “Black American” it’s a dog whistle for a xenophobic, capitulation to whiteness and claim to colonial empire a “Black American” as in explicitly not African. & can you believe there are Black skinned folks on Harriet Tubmans internet calling Malcolm X a tether… I blame it on the Obama years for inspiring this contemporary idea that we are somehow unrecognized accomplices in the amerikkkan project instead of captives still being subjugated within it. Some of us decided there was pride in all the monuments and first black “achievements” instead of naked aggression towards the fascistic culture of white supremacy that is amerikkka.. we became so intent on proving them wrong about the lie they told that we stopped trying to flip the table, now some of us just want to sit at it. and isn’t that a shame.
