I’m looking for some authentic insights into Muslim life in Italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹, specifically in Rome. I’m particularly interested in hearing from brothers and sisters who have lived in other parts of Western Europe and can compare the two environments.
Unfortunately, in much of Western Europe, Muslims face an immense amount of hostility and systemic Islamophobia. From my personal travels, I’ve always felt that Italians are significantly warmer and more human in their interactions compared to people in Western or Eastern Europe. I’m wondering if this impression holds true for Muslims living there long-term. How is the daily reality regarding anti-Muslim sentiment?
I would also love to get a clear picture on the following points:
• Standard of Living & Quality of Life: How does it truly compare to the rest of Europe?
• Halal Infrastructure & Masjids: How accessible is halal food/meat in Rome, and what does the mosque infrastructure look like?
• Community & Unity: How strong is the brotherhood and cohesion among Muslims there?
• Demographics: Which nationalities form the largest Muslim communities in Italy?
