With how difficult marriage has become today, I often find myself thinking about the story of Julaibib (RA).

🔒 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝘽𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙚 🔒
One of the greatest deceptions of shaytan is making haram feel harmless.
“It’s just a conversation.”
“It’s just social media.”
“It’s just a few messages.”
“It’s just looking.”
But the heart becomes attached to what it repeatedly consumes. Allah ﷻ did not prohibit haram to make life difficult.
He prohibited it to protect our hearts, our minds, our marriages, and our future. Sometimes people wonder why they struggle to appreciate the halal that Allah ﷻ has blessed them with.
Perhaps it is because the heart has become accustomed to chasing what was never meant for it.
𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗵 ﷻ 𝘀𝗮𝘆𝘀:
“𝗗𝗼 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗮.” (𝗤𝘂𝗿’𝗮𝗻 𝟭𝟳:𝟯𝟮)
Notice that Allah ﷻ did not only forbid the act itself. He also warned us against the paths that lead to it.
Every glance.
Every secret conversation.
Every emotional attachment outside the boundaries Allah has set.
These things shape the heart.
The more we feed our hearts with haram, the less they find peace in what Allah has made halal.
May Allah ﷻ purify our hearts, lower our gaze, protect our marriages, and make the halal beloved to us.
اللهم حبب إلينا الحلال واصرف عنا الحرام، وطهر قلوبنا وأبصارنا.
