In the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad, marriage is described as a natural, moral, and protective institution with spiritual and social benefits. These teachings are found mainly in hadith collections such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.

Marriage as a protection of chastity
“O young people! Whoever among you is able to marry should marry, for it helps lower the gaze and guard chastity. And whoever cannot, should fast, for it is a shield for him.” -
Marriage as part of the Prophet’s way
“Marriage is part of my Sunnah, and whoever does not follow my Sunnah has nothing to do with me.”
