I need some quick advice before I jump and do something that may end up being a mistake instead.
We've had some new neighbours move in. They have 5 very young kids.
A few times I've heard the kid outside in the garden crying saying mummy please open the door, let us in.. They be outside in the garden good half an hour to an hour.
Today it happened again. I could hear the 2 young ones probably aged 2 and 3. Crying and saying mummy please let us in. Please open the door.
It was going on for 45 mins. I went downstairs and told my mum shall I call the police as the kids have been crying outside for a while. Unless their mums fainted in the house and kids are locked outside. But its always happening we always hear them crying outside for ages.
So I go I'm going to knock and just check up on them. The brother answered. Saying yeah we locked them outside as they were having a tantrum so we were disciplining them.
I go its been like 45 mins they've been crying. His like yeah we do it often. But thank u for checking up on them.
Ever since they've moved in we can hear the kids crying in the garden. It's always mummy please open the door..and they don't be outside for 5-10 mins..its like 30 mins to 1 hour.
Surely you can't punish kids that young for so long.
Not sure if next time I should just call the police and do a safe guarding referal.
They'll know its me anyway as I'm probably the only one whose knocked their door with a concern..however I don't care about that.
I'm just thinking are the kids being abused.
As leaving young kids outside that long just doesn't sit right with me, especially in this heat.
Or am I over thinking or should I just learn to mind my own business and leave them to parent their kids their own way?
